Becoming a Patron of A.L. Mabry
Last night I made a live announcement on Facebook letting everyone know about my newest venture, joining Younique. I promised that I would follow that video up with a post offering more direction and information for those wanting to follow and support me on the next leg of this journey.
First, just to make sure everyone is up to speed, I have split up with my husband and I am moving out of our house. I have my two kiddos who still live at home and we’re still working on a plan as far as where we will go from here. We’re a good little team with a fantastic tribe so I know we will be okay but here is where I really kick into gear. Also, where I need YOUR support!
Back in the day patron of the arts was a popular concept and it is making a come back only now we call it modern, fancy things like “crowdfunding.” The basis of it is this: donors offer funds to an artist on a regular basis so that the artist can focus on creation and commisions. It’s not a perfect science, hence the term starving artist.
I have an array of things on my plate, something for everyone I would think. If nothing listed here speaks to you then maybe you would just consider following me on social media and helping to spread my content.
Our Write Side: This is the literary company I own and I run it will the support of an amazing board and a wonderful team. We offer full author services, education, and publishing. Our goal is to meet authors where they are in their book journey and help them get where they want to go.
Patreon: This one is a little dusty but I am working on a revamp plan for it. I would like to use this platform to continue building my Darker Daze concept. While the book series is and will remain dark fiction, this platform will focus on victim advocacy and support. The was always the goal for Darker Daze. This series has been a source of healing for me after a life of abuse and I want others to know they can come through stronger as well.
Etsy: This is where I sell made handmade art. I carry wands, dragon eggs, wood runes and more. Everything in my shop is a one of kind and made with love.
Younique: This is the newest addition to my journey. I am looking forward to learning and growing with my team and sharing what I learn with those of you who want it. Younique has core values that align with my own. They are passionate about supporting and advocating for both victims and survivors of abuse. I will be bringing the She Spawn along on this particular venture as she has a passion for makeup and is ready to build her media presence up as well. I plan to run a video series for this titled, “Beauty and the Bookworm.” In this series, we will take on makeup tutorials based on literary characters. We will also explore those characters, their stories, and the authors who penned them during the videos.
You can follow all my social media links at the top of this website and you can also scroll down my homepage for more links. I always appreciate every bit of support from watching my live videoes to supporting my company to purchasing my art. If you just want to buy me a cup of coffee, that’s cool too!
Until next time, scribe happy and stay sassy,
